Spacesaver’s award was announced at NeoCon® World’s Trade Fair 2008 in Chicago, IL, in June.
Spacesaver is located in Fort Atkinson, WI and specializes in providing innovative storage solutions specifically designed to help decision makers better manage the unique time, space and security challenges they face today. Spacesaver received Grand Prize in the “Safety and Accessibility” category for their XTend™ Mobile High-Bay Storage System. The 30-foot (9 meter) high shelving units that compact together on motorized carriages include multiple in-aisle safety devices, an overhead anti-tip system, and an integrated order picker vehicle to ensure convenient, reliable, safe access to archived media. The breakthrough, first-of-its-kind solution is specifically designed for academic libraries and a host of commercial and government applications where there is a critical need for a highly efficient means to store and retrieve archived media off-site – and free up increasingly precious on-site space.
